Wind Rose Plots

What are Wind Rose Plots?

Wind Rose plots are graphical representations of wind observations and calculations such as speed and direction.  They are used to analyze wind patterns over periods of time like a day, a month, or even an entire year.  For this particular lab, we used free software from the Lakes Environmental website and we used data from the EPA website to make the wind rose plot.

What do they look like?

Below I have provided 3 pictures of wind rose plots that I created with the Lake Environmental software.  I used data from my birthday, June 12, 1992 for the blowing-from and blowing-to plots, and the month of June during 1992 for an average month.  Since my hometown is about 40 minutes away from Tallahassee, Florida, I used data collected from the wind station at the Tallahassee Regional Airport.

About Me

My photo
Justice. Speaking for the voiceless, and avenging the powerless. These are not only missions of Captain America, but are also the duties that Haley Hubbard wants to fulfill someday. Her talkative nature on the subjects of traveling and the law contrasts her silent-type personality. However, Hubbard once owned the mock trial courtroom and knows she will own an actual courtroom once again after law school. Hubbard is a 21-year-old senior, double majoring Political Science and Spanish at Mercer University. Hubbard could see herself as a legal/crime analyst or a political pundit on news or television after law school.
